The role will focus on developing research strategies and implementation of pathways related to industrial biotechnology, bio-based manufacturing, and emerging bioeconomy systems. The candidate will work on interdisciplinary projects that include life cycle analysis, systems modelling, policy analysis, industrial ecosystem assessment, stakeholder engagement, and strategic roadmap development to help India transition to a sustainable and globally competitive biomanufacturing ecosystem. 

Responsibilities

• Conduct life cycle assessments and techno-economic assessments for biomanufacturing technologies, including biologics, industrial biotechnology, precision fermentation, biomaterials, and bio-based products
• Support the development of analytical frameworks, technical reports, policy briefs, and roadmaps
• Assess manufacturing, feedstock, and scale-up requirements for emerging biomanufacturing systems
• Work with government, industry, academia, startups, and international organisations to collect data, conduct stakeholder consultations, and support collaborative projects
